RIPE Big Picture BoF Moderators: Hans Petter Holen, RIPE Chair and Mirjam Kühne, RIPE NCC This BoF aims to have the RIPE community discuss the responsibilities that the RIPE Community has towards wider society in general. Questions that will be asked at the BoF include the role of the RIPE Database and the RIPE Registry - what were these intended for when first created? Are there different factors now at play that mean they have a wider scope of interest for society? The BoF will also ask the question of whether the RIPE community is adequately maintaining its credibility as a bottom-up industry self-regulating forum if it is not open to wider changes in society. This BoF could be seen as a continuation of the RIPE 77 Navel Gazing BoF organised by Shane Kerr and would focus on some of the key issues raised during that BoF. The minutes of the RIPE 77 Navel Gazing BoF can be viewed at: https://ripe77.ripe.net/programme/meeting-plan/bof/ Where: Side room Minutes of RIPE Big Picture BoF |

RIPE Chair Selection Process Moderator: Hans Petter Holen, RIPE Chair This BoF will provide time for the RIPE community to discuss the RIPE Chair selection process. The last face-to-face discussion on this topic took place during the closing plenary at RIPE 77. Based on the outcome of that discussion, a new proposal was submitted and is currently been discussed on the ripe-chair-discuss mailing list. You can access the mailing list at: https://www.ripe.net/mailman/listinfo/ripe-chair-discuss/ Where: Side room Minutes of the RIPE Chair Selection Process BoF |

BoF for Brokers and Interested Parties Moderator: Mike Burns, IPTrading.com This BoF is intended to allow brokers and other interested parties to interact with each other directly in order to address issues of interest to the broker community. RIR meetings provide a good place for face-to-face encounters that can lead to actions beneficial to the entire RIR community. These can be as simple as facilitating deal-making, or as ambitious as creating a broker organisation of some sort. The BoF is intended to allow brokers to introduce themselves, and to present their ideas to fellow brokers for consideration. Where: Main room |
